    Job Description: Planning Manager – Lead Schedule Systems/Governance. A Planning Manager with Lead Schedule Systems/Governance experience is required to work on a five-month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our defence client based in Cumbria. This is a 5-month contract with a leading UK defence company. Overview of the Planning Manager – Lead Schedule Systems/Governance role. Lead the development, maintenance, and deployment of planning processes, Work Instructions, User Guides etc. Responsible for setting up and Chairing the Community of Practice for scheduling. Responsible for setting up and running communication forums for planning including the wider corporate information. Responsible for training plans, training scope agreements with the business. Key skills required for the Planning Manager – Lead Schedule Systems/Governance. Formal qualifications are not a prerequisite for this role however it is likely the role holder will be degree qualified and will have pursued relevant professional accreditation. Strong understanding of Schedule and Resource Management activities and alignment to business needs. Broad understanding of wider programme controls and its impact/integration with Schedule and Resource Management. Strong understanding of quality systems. Ideally would have some knowledge of Submarine build delivery and project controls IM&T systems. Must have relevant Primavera P6 experience. Experience of leading Schedule and Resource Management in a complex project environment. The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District. To support the programme teams in developing the P6 integration schedules to efficiently integrate the projects in line with the companies schedule integration working practices. Be responsible for multi-boat integration within P6 where required. Ensure schedule compliance of the schedule working practices. Ensure that the P6 schedules interfaces requirements with other IMT systems (SAP/Teamcenter etc.) are being met and are working efficiently.
