We have an exciting opportunity for Global Purchasing Manager to join the team in Cambridge. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing an effective global purchasing program for sourcing equipment, goods and services, and managing vendors worldwide. You will produce and maintain 5 year forecast for supplier optimisation and cost performance that aligns with corporate strategy and business objectives. The successful GPM will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple spend segments and will establish internal policies, implement appropriate control systems, and apply industry best practices. Key stakeholders include Supply Chain, Engineering, Product Planning, Legal, Finance, and Commercial Operations. Experience/Skills. Proven working experience as purchasing manager or minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing administration with increasing responsibilities. Prior experience with a contract electronics manufacturing (CEM) relationship a plus. Working knowledge of ERP systems. Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management best practices, software, tools, etc. Interest in market dynamics along with strong business acumen. Ability to define and lead a negotiation strategy. Ability to gather and analyse data, as well as calculate figures and amounts such as time value of money, discounts, interest, compounding, proportions, percentages, area and volume, etc. Solid judgement along with decision making skills.
