Our client is a leading travel business based in London and this is an amazing opportunity to join a fantastic company at a very exciting time. You, as Business Development Manager, would work within the really friendly Business Development Team. The business development team are also tightly connected with the whole business, our member partners and business partners.
The overall purpose of the role is to support our member partners and help them grow their business and profits, through understanding how they operate and helping them make positive business choices. You will also be required to recruit new members by handling new member enquiries, proactively approaching agents and new business start-ups, organise meetings for all promising leads and finally converting leads to membership opportunities.
On top of those challenging objectives, the other purpose of your job is to drive sales for our exclusive internal tour operation only available to our client’s members.

Job responsibilities:

• Engage member partners and understand how they operate and what business challenges they face
• Build a strong working relationship with the member partners
• Offer practical advice to members with regards to marketing, business efficiencies and ways of maximising income
• Engage agency enquirer and arrange meetings for most relevant agencies
• Convert enquiries to membership and ensure a smooth transition into membership
• Attend events and meetings to engage with agents and develop a network of contacts for drawing in new members
• Identify agency targets for potential new members and engage proactively
• Identify key members to work with and develop a strategy to engage the member, assess the relevancy of the product and maximise selling opportunities
• Develop an effective training and implementation plan to ensure consistency of training and thoroughness
• Track results of training and feedback in relation to member sales and assess the next steps for the member

Experience and Professional Competence

Skills required:

• Successfully delivering against business targets in various areas
• Building strong relationships with member partners
• Able to comfortably liaise with business members and address their needs
• Working with the leisure travel sector (business travel knowledge is a nice to have)
• Have extensive experience of gaining new business and client relations
• Keeping up to date with all the industry challenges
