Job Detail

Carnival UK has big plans for the future! Already the market leader, CUK (which operates the P&O Cruises and Cunard Brands) will grow by 50% by 2022 as we add new ships to the fleet and further transform the industry by making cruising a mainstream holiday for UK guests.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly capable Data Scientist to help deliver even better holidays for customers of our leading travel brands, from within our growing Insight & Analytics team.

You’ll be passionate about our Guests’ experience, great at engaging an Insight-hungry business and ensuring we create unforgettable holiday happiness for our guests!

Experience and Professional Competence

Skills required:

You’ll have at least a Bachelor’s Degree that has very applicable use of data science / statistics techniques (e.g. statistics, applied math, computer science, OR a science field with direct statistics application), and have a demonstrable background in innovation and problem-solving. You will also be experienced in applying mathematical techniques, using such software as R, SAS or MATLAB, to solve complex business problems.

Other pre-requisites include a strong knowledge and understanding of demand forecasting techniques and/or price optimisation. You should also have a strong passion for analytics and problem solving with skills in communicating and presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences. Previous experience of price optimisation solutions and previous business experience of delivering working solutions to business problems, would also be highly desirable.
