For over 75 years we’ve kept our promise of being ‘Never Knowingly Undersold’. It’s as relevant now as it was back then and has helped us become the largest department store retailer in the UK with 49 John Lewis shops.
The way we live our lives is changing. And technology has played an enormous role in that. Our customers’ needs absolutely reflect this as more and more customers are choosing to shop at the touch of a button, whilst expecting the same service and choice around product and delivery. That’s why online means big business. We have more than 280,000 specially chosen products now on JohnLewis.com for our customers. It’s a number that’s increasing.
And whilst online is undoubtedly our biggest growth area, we’ve also looked at other ways that we can keep our customer service award-winning through the services we offer. From our fitted kitchen and advisory service to John Lewis Financial Services and new “concierge-style” shopping experiences in our newest shops. We’ve even developed a membership club that rewards our customers for their loyalty (Partners can join too!).
We change to keep our customers happy. We change because our Partners come up with great ideas. We change because we always wish to do better. It’s just one of the many reasons our Partners join… and then stay.
We’re all about integrity and vision. Are you?
We’re humbled by the awards we win. ‘Best In Store Experience’, ‘Best Furniture Retailer’ and ‘Best Homewares Retailer’ at the 2017 Verdict Customer Satisfaction Awards and ‘Retailer of the Year’ at the 2017 Sunday Times Style Beauty Awards are just a few we’re proud of.
It means we’re doing something right. It means we’re listening to our customers and we’re providing them with what they want. That’s largely down to our commercial intuition, our innovation and our creativity. But we also have an altogether deeper connection with our customers.
And that’s our ability to couple vision with integrity… something we also expect from our Partners. It’s this that our customers admire. It’s this that gives us the edge over our competition. It’s this that makes their experience all the more enjoyable. And the same can be said for our Partners too.
Want to be part of something extraordinary?
John Lewis is no ordinary retailer. Not just because of the scale of our business – or even its success. It’s true that we’re the UK’s largest department store group – and that we’re one of the biggest retail success stories in recent years. It’s also true that we offer over a million different lines (from fashion and fabrics to electrical and toys). But it isn’t what we do that makes us special. It’s the way we do it.
Join us in any of the hundreds of roles across our business, from Warehouse Manager to Retail Assistant and you’ll soon discover what we mean. Not a single one of these jobs is ever ‘just a job’. You’ll become part of the John Lewis Partnership – quite simply, you’ll be a Partner in our co-owned business. Someone with a say in how we run things. Someone who appreciates that as a Partner it means we expect more from you as it’s your business too. Yet someone who’s always a name (never just a number). And someone who can take ownership of their own career too.
We’re anything but ordinary. And you could be too.
