    We are now recruiting for an experience Travel Sales Consultant to join the team at the branch in Knutsford and Chester branches. In this role you will maximise sales by providing a high quality service and specialist knowledge to all our customers to ensure they return to us again and again. This role will start in January 2018.


    Hours: 37.5 hours per week over 5 days (Between 9am – 9pm Monday-Friday, Saturday 9am– 5pm and Sunday 10am – 6pm)


    Job Accountabilities:

    Proactively match customer requests to Travelbag’s extensive range of products, maximising all sales opportunities and providing a perfect holiday experience.
    Ensure excellent customer service is provided to all customers at all times
    Consistently achieving individual monthly sales targets as well as contributing to the overall achievement of the store targets.
    Optimise all sales opportunities including ancillary products and work towards specific business product targets i.e. incentive drives.
    Keep product knowledge up-to-date and share new information with colleagues
    Effectively handle customer complaints to minimise customer dissatisfaction and encourage repeat business
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure each team member is provided the opportunity to develop and maximize their potential
    Provide feedback on success of promotional activities
    Attend, participate in and contribute positively towards team meetings/briefings
    Recommend constructive improvements to system or working practices

    Qualifications, Skills & Experience
    Previous travel industry experience – ideally in tailor-made long haul
    Proven record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
    GDS experience an advantage, but full training will be given
    Good IT skills including keyboard skills and experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
    Strong communication skills with the ability to provide service to our customers through varied methodology – i.e. face to face, by telephone and by e-mail
    Ability to work under own supervision or as part of a team
    Enthusiastic and persuasive
    Attention to detail and ability to problem solve
    A passion for travel

    Key Tasks:

    - Issue/Reissue all ticket types on all Queues in full accordance to airline rules to ensure no errors and possible ADM/Losses from airlines
    - Issuing of all tickets across all queues
    - Re-issuing of all tickets on all queues for schedule changes/voluntary changes or requests from airlines.
    - Issue all paid bookings by deadline for Fuel Surcharge and Ticket Deadline brought in by airlines.
    - Issue all International/ Internal/ Air passes/ Side trip tickets on all fare types.
    - Issue all tickets in accordance with company Service Level Agreement.
    - Issue all tickets for special requirements for airline – ie Unaccompanied minors / Migrant baggage visa’s etc
    - Deal with airport issues ensuring tickets issued and customers board their time.
    - Issue all Groups/Tours/Allocation bookings
    - Issue MCO/VMPD/EMD for extra payment for excess baggage/reissue fee/name changes.
    - Programmers daily/weekly/monthly update the ticketing automation functionality – to report faults to IT, to reduce ADM’s, targeted to automate as much as possible
    - Assist in Crisis situations and reissue tickets where required.
    - Invoice and issue Queued PNR booking providing agents with documents.
    - Keep informed of business changes that affect the ticketing area
    - Escalating ‘IT’ issues or suggestions to the Manager
    - Ensure all problem bookings are communicated to relevant area to resolve
    - Communicate to Reservations if bookings are incorrect to allow correction before issuing.
